Hi Vickie....like I told you yesterday....I am glad you got the house. This is needed for both you and Butch!! I totally understand why you made this decision. Always here for you.

Glad you are showing a weight loss...good for you!!

I am sorry Butch"s pain isn't any better. He needs to try his very best to do as you ask. You are following doctors orders. I know there is only so much you can do. I love you my friend!!

I am taking good care of myself. Decided not to do laundry. That will only set me back again. I only have such a small amount of energy. I need to make it last for the day. Yes...I always overdo with Pam. If I have no one else at the time it ends up being her. I don't have her help me much. She is still sleeping 14-16 hours a day and occasionally up to 19.

I need a nap....I will check in later

Much love and oodles of hugs to you.....connie d

Good Morning Everyone (or what's left of it!)

Wow Connie...I was reading your post & it reminded me of my work as a case manager with the low-income! I absolutely loved my job for many years, but the games ppl play & the lack of insight into the long term consequences of their ADULT choices began to burn me out. I was also a hearing officer for our local housing authority & had to recommend whether the barrier that kept them from getting a voucher (criminal background) or poor landlord history (late rent payments, evictions, unauthorized tenants, etc.) It never ceased to amaze me that these folks who dealt drugs at of their federally funded apartments or committed other like offenses thought they could get back in by talking trash on everyone but themselves. Ot the ppl who had a rent of $25/mo & never paid it.

I totally sympathize with what you're dealing with. Only the good ppl make the hassles worth dealing with!

I know there was more I wanted to respond to but it flew the coop for now!

Anyhow, so sick of being snowed in...had 5 inches Thursday. I have been practicing the new eating habits I will need to follow post-op, but really am having a problem with the two key elements...cutting carbs & drinking enough water! then yesterday we went out for Chinese and I really blew it. I know I've got over 6 months to get this down since I just started the process, but I get scared thinking I'll never be able to change 50+ years of poor eating!

But enough of my rant for today. I am going to try to be extra mobile today to burn off the Chinese from last night.

Everyone have a great day!

Kathy

Hi Kathy....I think you got Judy and me mixed up....LOL. She is the one with the apartments and calls it the Funny Farm...before that it was Romper Room. I have worked with disabled people and know more then I wish I did. There is so much scamming and people using the system just to get things cheap. Most don't appreciate what they do have. The whole Health and Human  Services Department needs to be investigated. I have reported people I know that were scamming and nothing was ever done. They don't want to have to do anymore work then necessary.

Have a good day!!

Love and hugs to you....connie d

Oops, somehow I missed Jeannie and Trish, and I think Kathy came in after me, but with OFF you never know!  Anyway, good morning, y'all!

Hi Judy and my OFF family:

Boy, Judy, you sure have a zoo there. I liked Trish's comment about Romper Room ... yup, that's a good description of it. I couldn't deal with it. I'd blow up. No patience for those shenanigans.

I've been up since 5:30 a.m. Got up to go to the bathroom and my upstairs neighbor was playing her music kind of loud and I couldn't get back to sleep. So a little after 6 a.m., I got out of bed and made coffee. Took a half hour nap sometime in there, too. I'm feeling better. Knee still hurts, but a little less than yesterday. Still bruised quite a bit ... found new bruises farther down on the leg. Plus, my back has been bothering me since yesterday. I've had to take a painkiller already.

So I'll go back to work tonight. It'll be a pain but I feel badly enough that I didn't work the past two days. I don't like letting the "team" down ... I know I have sick days (actually personal time, which is also vacation time). We have such a small desk now everyone is needed.

Vickie, hope your move goes smoothly. Can you get movers to help you? That might make it go better for you. Hope Butch has less pain and is able to move better.

Connie, hope you feel less pain, too.

Can't remember everyone else ... just hope y'all have good days.

I feel a nap coming on soon.

Hi Eileen...sorry you woke up so early today...I did too but managed to fall back a sleep for a couple more hours.

I am like you...I am one that likes things to be right. There are rules and that is that. I would give them one warning and the next they are written up, the third time they would be gone. It is harder for Judy to do that because  she has to deal with corporate. I still would have a notebook and every thing they did wrong would be written down...including the date and time.  I think her boss is a little too lenient at times. Poor Judy...I hope she doesn't just collapse one of these times. It is a Romper Room there and some days a Funny Farm!! I remember it started out being the Romper Room and then it went to the Funny Farm. What next??

I am glad your knee is somewhat better today. Keep icing it. I hope working like that doesn't make it worse again. Sorry your back is hurting too. I hope it feels better soon.

You weren't letting your team down. You couldn't be there. I know how dedicated to your work you are. You just couldn't do it!!

Hope your night goes smoothly...love and hugs ...connie d

Hi Connie. I DID get you & Judy mixed up...SO SORRY!

I also worked with the disabled during my years in social work, and was shocked to observe all the system abuse! I often felt in cases of genuine need that there were not enough resources to help so I could partially understand ppl playing the system, but it seemed the 'good' clients' would never do that no matter how dire their cir****tances. Then the others would use and abuse every helping program out there!

Frustrating!

I had that 'duty to report' obligation in child abuse cases which also carried over into reporting fraud. However, like you nothing was ever done. It really aggravates me that the government is in so much debt, but does not take notice of fraud & wasteful spending. Yet cuts programs! Based on what I observed over 27 years in the field they could make a substantial dent in the national debt by getting the scammers hands out of the system!

Rant number 2 done for the day...lol!

Everyone try to have a productive, pain-free, drama-free day!

Hi Kathy... LOL....the system is allowing way to much to those who are able to work and aren't. So much deceit. You are right...the debt wouldn't be as high if the people in charge were following the rules...and removed if they weren't!!! The actual social workers are stealing besides!! It is a joke!!

More love and hugs...connie d
